Works starts on Eagle Village-Mary Washington Hospital connector
The connector road is being built on this terrain
Work has begun on the connector road between the back of the Eagle Village shopping center
and the Mary Washington Hospital campus in Fredericksburg. The project is expected to be
completed by early January, depending on the weather. Part of the canyon between the two
facilities will be filled in to create the road, whose speed limit isn’t expected to exceed 15 mph.
There will be an area for pedestrians and bicyclists. It will connect with Sam Perry
Boulevard between Snowden at Fredericksburg and Kids’ Station. The road is expected to boost
Eagle Village’s retailers, as it will make it easier for the large number of people who work on the
MWH campus to access the center. The road will also make it easier for guests at the planned
hotel next to the Giant store at Eagle Village to get to the hospital. Demolition work to enable the
hotel is expected to start within the next month.
